Masters Golf Betting at
Augusta National Golf Course

Augusta National Golf Club Augusta, GA
The Masters Tournament, which is commonly referred to as The
Masters or The US Masters,
is one of four major championships in men's professional golf
and the first of the four
to be played each year. Unlike the other major championships,
the Masters is held every year
at the same location, Augusta National Golf Club, a private golf
club in the city of Augusta,
Georgia, USA. The Masters was started by Clifford Roberts and
Bobby Jones, who designed
Augusta National with legendary course architect Alister
MacKenzie.
|

|
The Masters is an official money event on the PGA Tour, the PGA
European Tour and the
Japan Golf Tour. In line with the other majors, winning the
Masters gives a golfer several
privileges which make his career more secure. Masters champions
are automatically invited
to play in the other three majors (the U.S. Open, the Open
Championship (British Open),
and the PGA Championship) for the next five years, and earn a
lifetime invitation to the
Masters. They also receive membership on the PGA Tour for the
following five seasons and
invitations to the Players Championship for five years.
The tournament is
always played at Augusta National, in Augusta, Georgia. Bob Jones
dreamed of a course that would take advantage of the natural
landscape of the area, and create beauty that all could behold. He
found the perfect land in Augusta and hired Scottish golf-course
architect Dr. Alister Mackenzie to design the course. The longest
hole is #2, with its 575 yards and a par 5. It is said to be very
difficult, but perhaps not as difficult as hole 13, with its
water-hazard protected green.
| Winner of The
Masters 2010
In 17 visits to Augusta Mickelson has finished in the top 10 on 13 occasions, winning three green jackets.
The victory gave Mickelson his fourth major title. He might have had many more had he been able in his youth to contain his appetite for risk. Before he broke into the winner's enclosure, Mickelson had clocked up eight top-three finishes. In total his career record shows six second places – five at the US Open – and six thirds.
